Snapchat Announces New Virtual Try-On AR Partnership with Amazon

Snapchat has teamed up with Amazon to add virtual try-on eyewear to its app. Customers will be able to explore, shop and digitally shop and then ‘seamlessly purchase in the Amazon Fashion store’ The process works in partnership with Amazon’s recently launched AR try-in-on options for glasses in its app, with retailers now able to pair their AR creations across to Snap as well to maximize reach, to maximize the reach of the app. Snap says that in the past year, Amazon Fashion customers ordered more than one billion fashion items on mobile devices. The app will be looking to lean into this, with Snap already developing more advanced AR models, to provide more product display options, and enhanced virtual experiences. This is great news for creators as it opens up even more opportunities to make money from their work. It also shows that Amazon is continuing to invest heavily in the fashion industry and this will likely mean good news for sellers on Amazon Fashion too.
