Instagram Moves to Next Stage of Development with Creator ‘Media Kit’ Option

Instagram has added a new 'Creator Portfolio' option to its in-app Media Kit, which would guide creators through the process of building their own pitch to brands. The option was spotted in testing last month, but has now moved to the next stage of development for the option, with a new welcome screen, and an overview of how the process will work. Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri recently told his team that the app is falling behind in various key measurables related to the creator push, including ‘fun, reach, fair algorithm and care” as well as the ability to make money, such as “fun” and “fair” to be “in-app” on the ‘Creator Economy” This is great news for creators as it signals that Instagram is taking its responsibility to support and promote the creator economy seriously. The introduction of the 'Creator Portfolio' option will provide a more streamlined process for creators to get their content in front of potential customers, and help improve key metrics around engagement, monetization, and reach.
